Insider advice Save money

A groom should choose his best man and groomsmen as quickly as possible after announcing the engagement. He Choose your best man carefully, because he will organize the bachelor party, help you solve the mysteries of wedding attire and stay calm on your wedding day. He also keeps the groomsmen in order before the wedding ceremony, holds the ring and payment for the officiant, and offers a toast to the bride and groom at the reception. Primarily, the groomsmen are ushers at the wedding, although they can assist with much more wedding planning. The number of groomsmen you'll need hinges on the formality and size of the wedding. For every fifty guests, select one usher.

After the best man and groomsmen are chosen, you will need to pick their outfits. Their clothing need not match entirely, but bridesmaids and groomsmen should match in formality. Each attendant is responsible for renting or buying his own clothing, unless you want to pay for it as a gift. To thank the groomsmen for their support, you’ll want to give each a gift at the rehearsal dinner. Fountain pens or monogrammed flasks are suitable and tasteful, but anything thoughtful and personalized is appropriate.
